Product Review: Rimmel London Berry Queen Lipstick

June 18, 2015

Hello people. I am here with yet another product review. Will be talking about Rimmel London Lipstick in the shade Berry Queen.

Now those of you who don’t know, Rimmel London is endorsed by Kate Moss and the products are very difficult to find in India. They have just one outlet in Mumbai I guess. They have amazing cosmetics at a very good rate. I always wanted to pick up few lippies from their Kate moss signature collection, which basically come in a black tube and Kate written on it in red. They have their matte collection and the moisture renew collection as well, which is supposed to be hydrating and moisturising.

Recently my best friend had a Rimmel London stall exhibition at her work place. Without any further due, she called me up and the first thing I asked her to buy was the lipstick. Now, I was looking for a red shade, which had brown undertones to it. So something like a brick red kind and she picked this one up for me.

Now, first of all the moisture renew range comes in a sturdy tube with a glittering purple cap unlike the lasting finish ones by Kate.

The lipstick is smooth and highly pigmented. Just one swipe gives you a great coverage.

This range was smooth and hydrating on my lips, so I did not require any lip balm underneath neither does it settle in fine lines.

I personally do not like glossy or pearly finish lipsticks, and unfortunately, this is one of them. I prefer matte lipsticks, especially when want to wear any Red lipstick.

I did solve this issue by dabbing on some loose powder, to make it appear more matte. I wore this lipstick in my outfit post, you can see the post here

The staying power of this lipstick is good.

It can stay for 4 to 5 hours with light meals in between and fades evenly. This one does not bleed or feather at the edges but does transfer.

I would recommend this shade to ladies who do not mind glossy lipsticks, teenagers and college goers might want to give this shade a skip. Since it looks a bit matured. This shade will suit medium to darker skin tones.

Rimmel AnRosette

Hydrating, no need to use lip balm underneath

Smooth and glides on easily

Good coverage in just one swipe

Does not bleed or feather

Good staying power

Not pricy

Sturdy Packaging

Availability (major con)

Glossy Finish (not a con though)

Nothing other than this. Over all, if you are looking for a budget red lipstick and have a medium to dark skin tone, you might want to try this. It is not a bright red shade which will make you think twice before wearing. However, when going monochromatic, this shade can be used best.
